Privacy Policy
This English version is provided for convenience. In case of doubt, the German privacy policy (Datenschutzerklärung) is authoritative.
This privacy policy informs you about the processing of personal data when you visit www.wm-consulting.eu. It applies to all pages of this domain, in particular the home page, the “Services” page at /leistungen/, the “About” page at /ueber-mich/, the charging cost calculator at /ladekosten/ and the English pages at /en/.

No data protection officer has been appointed, as the legal requirements for doing so (Section 38 BDSG, German Federal Data Protection Act) are not met.
2. Key points at a glance
- The charging cost calculator runs entirely in your browser. Your inputs are not transmitted to us and are not stored.
- We use no cookies, no tracking, no analytics tools and no social media plugins.
- Fonts, the layout library (Bootstrap), logo, photos and program code are hosted on our own web space. No content is loaded from third parties such as Google Fonts, CDNs, YouTube or map services.
- Personal data is only processed in our host’s server log files and, if you contact us, when handling your inquiry.
- The header links to Winfried Machotta’s LinkedIn profile. This is a simple link, not a social media plugin: data is only transmitted to LinkedIn when you click the icon. LinkedIn Ireland Unlimited Company, Wilton Plaza, Wilton Place, Dublin 2, Ireland, is responsible for processing on LinkedIn; its privacy policy applies.
- For online appointment booking we link to the Calendly service. Calendly is not embedded in our pages and only becomes active when you click “Book a call” (see Section 8).
3. Hosting and server log files
This website is hosted by:
STRATO GmbHOtto-Ostrowski-Straße 7
10249 Berlin, Germany
When you access the pages, the web server automatically processes information transmitted by your browser and stores it in server log files:
- IP address of the requesting device
- date and time of access
- file or page requested and amount of data transferred
- HTTP status code
- referrer URL, i.e. the previously visited page, if transmitted by your browser
- browser type, browser version and operating system
Purpose: technical provision of the website, stability, security, and detection and defense against attacks.
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest lies in the secure and trouble-free operation of the website.
Retention: STRATO stores the full IP address for a maximum of seven days to detect and defend against attacks. After that, it is irreversibly anonymized. We ourselves only receive the log files with anonymized IP addresses; they are available to us for a maximum of six weeks. We do not combine them with other data sources.
Data processing agreement: A data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR has been concluded with STRATO. Processing takes place in data centers in Germany.
4. Charging cost calculator and diagrams
All calculations and graphics are generated locally in your browser using JavaScript. Your inputs – parking duration, parking fee, charging current, rate, battery capacity, state of charge and the other assumptions – do not leave your device. They are neither transmitted to us nor to third parties and are discarded when you close the page. Nothing is stored in the browser, neither via cookies nor via local storage.
5. Cookies and device access
These pages do not set cookies and do not access information on your device beyond what is technically necessary for display (Section 25(2) No. 2 TDDDG, German Telecommunications Digital Services Data Protection Act). Consent is therefore not required, and no cookie banner is shown. For Calendly’s external booking page, Calendly’s cookie notices apply.
Language notice: On the German pages, a small script checks your browser’s language setting locally in your browser. If it is not German, a notice pointing to the English version is shown. There is no automatic redirect and no data is transmitted to us. If you close the notice, the entry “wm-lang-hint-closed = 1” is stored in your browser’s session storage so that the notice does not reappear. The entry contains no personal data and is deleted automatically when the browser session ends. It serves solely the function you requested (Section 25(2) No. 2 TDDDG).
6. Fonts and layout
The Outfit and Manrope typefaces, the Bootstrap layout library used on the home page and all images, including the portrait photo on the “About” page, are stored on our own server and loaded from there. No connection is made to servers of Google, jsDelivr or other providers.
7. Contact by email or phone
There is no contact form on this website. Email links on our pages merely open your own email program; no data is transmitted to us until you send the email yourself.
If you contact us by email or phone, we process your details, such as name, email address, phone number and the content of your inquiry, in order to handle the inquiry.
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR if your inquiry relates to a contract or pre-contractual measures. In all other cases, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR applies; our legitimate interest is responding to your inquiry.
Retention: We delete the data once your inquiry has been fully handled, unless statutory retention obligations apply, for example under Section 147 AO (German Fiscal Code) or Section 257 HGB (German Commercial Code).
Recipients: We use the mail servers of our host STRATO to receive email, see Section 3.
8. Online appointment booking via Calendly
To arrange meetings, we offer online booking via the Calendly service. The provider is Calendly LLC, 115 E Main St., Ste A1B, Buford, GA 30518, USA.
Calendly is not embedded in our website. The buttons “Book a call” and “Book an intro call” are simple links. As long as you do not click them, no data is transmitted to Calendly. Clicking opens Calendly’s booking page in a new window. For the data automatically processed there when the page is accessed, such as IP address, device and browser information and cookies, Calendly’s privacy notice applies.
When you book an appointment, we process the data you enter via Calendly, usually your name, email address, the selected time and any voluntary information about your request. Calendly sends you confirmations and reminders by email.
Purpose: planning and conducting the requested meeting.
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR, since the booking is made at your request and serves to initiate a business relationship; otherwise Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, our legitimate interest being simple appointment scheduling.
Data processing agreement: Calendly processes the booking data on our behalf. The data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR (Data Processing Addendum) is part of Calendly’s terms of use.
Transfer to third countries: Calendly processes data in the USA. Calendly LLC is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework. The transfer is therefore based on the European Commission’s adequacy decision of July 10, 2023 (Art. 45 GDPR); EU Standard Contractual Clauses have also been agreed.
Retention: We delete the booking data as soon as it is no longer needed to conduct and follow up on the meeting, unless statutory retention obligations apply.
Alternative: You don’t have to use Calendly. We are just as happy to arrange appointments by email at info@wm-consulting.eu or by phone.
9. Encryption
The pages are transmitted exclusively via HTTPS with TLS encryption; unencrypted requests via “http://” are automatically redirected to HTTPS. You can recognize an encrypted connection by “https://” in your browser’s address bar.
10. Disclosure and transfers to third countries
We do not pass your data on to third parties. Exceptions are our processors: the host STRATO, with processing in Germany, and – only if you book an appointment online – Calendly, with processing in the USA (see Section 8). Beyond this, no data is transferred to countries outside the EU or EEA.
11. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the following rights with respect to us:
- access to the data stored about you (Art. 15 GDPR)
- rectification of inaccurate data (Art. 16 GDPR)
- erasure (Art. 17 GDPR)
- restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR)
- data portability (Art. 20 GDPR)
Right to object under Art. 21 GDPR
If we process your data on the basis of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, you may object to this processing at any time on grounds relating to your particular situation. An informal message to info@wm-consulting.eu is sufficient.
Right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority
You have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR). The authority responsible for us is:
Landesbeauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit Nordrhein-Westfalen(State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information of North Rhine-Westphalia)
Kavalleriestraße 2–4
40213 Düsseldorf, Germany
Phone: +49 211 38424-0
Email: poststelle@ldi.nrw.de
12. Obligation to provide data and automated decision-making
You are not obliged to provide us with personal data. However, without the log data described in Section 3, the website cannot be delivered technically. There is no automated decision-making or profiling within the meaning of Art. 22 GDPR.
13. Objection to promotional emails
We hereby object to the use of contact data published as part of the legal notice obligation for sending unsolicited advertising and information material. The operators of these pages expressly reserve the right to take legal action in the event of unsolicited promotional information, such as spam emails.
14. Changes
We update this privacy policy when the website or the legal situation changes, for example when we integrate new services. The version published here applies.
